Bajrang Seva Foundation

From 11th November 2025 to 25th August 2026, I participated in a long-term CAS service experience through the Bajrang Seva Foundation, a community service initiative focused on supporting underprivileged people in Dang. Through this initiative, I worked towards helping individuals and families access important healthcare benefits by assisting them with Ayushman cards. We also aimed to support people in need by providing basic essential supplies and medicines. The purpose of this experience was to address the challenges faced by economically disadvantaged communities, particularly limited access to healthcare information, medical support, and essential resources. Through direct interaction with members of the community, I was able to better understand their needs and contribute towards improving their overall well-being.

This experience helped me achieve LO3 (Initiate and plan a CAS experience), LO4 (Show perseverance and commitment), LO5 (Demonstrate the skills and recognise the benefits of working collaboratively), and LO7 (Recognise and consider the ethics of choices and actions). LO3 was demonstrated through the planning and organisation involved in developing the Bajrang Seva Foundation and identifying ways in which we could provide meaningful support to the community. LO4 was achieved through my continued commitment to the initiative over several months, while balancing my CAS responsibilities with academic work and other commitments. LO5 was demonstrated by working collaboratively with others to organise activities, distribute essential supplies, and assist community members. LO7 was reflected in the importance of acting responsibly and ethically, particularly when dealing with vulnerable individuals and ensuring that the support provided was respectful, fair, and genuinely beneficial to those in need.

The experience also connected strongly with several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Good Health and Well-being (SDG 3), No Poverty (SDG 1), and Reduced Inequalities (SDG 10). By helping people access Ayushman cards and basic medicines, the initiative contributed towards improving access to healthcare and supporting the well-being of disadvantaged communities. Providing essential supplies also helped address some of the immediate difficulties faced by families with limited resources.

This CAS experience reflected the IB learner profile attributes of Caring, Communicator, and Principled. I demonstrated Caring by working to support people facing difficult circumstances and contributing to the well-being of my community. As a Communicator, I interacted with different people, understood their needs, and helped explain and facilitate access to available support. Being Principled was important in ensuring that all individuals were treated with dignity, respect, and fairness. Overall, this experience strengthened my leadership, communication, teamwork, organisation, problem-solving, and social responsibility, while allowing me to make a meaningful contribution to the community in Dang.
