During the academic year 2025–26, I participated in a Hindi Immersion Event where I was part of a stage play performed entirely in Hindi. The experience involved memorising dialogues, understanding my character, improving pronunciation, and rehearsing consistently with my team to deliver a final performance. Performing in front of an audience in Hindi required confidence, clarity of expression, and coordination with my co-actors. This activity challenged both my creative expression and communication skills, while also strengthening my discipline and teamwork.
Learning Outcomes Achieved
LO1: Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth
This experience helped me identify my strengths in expression, confidence, and stage presence. I realised that I am comfortable performing in front of an audience and can express emotions effectively through voice and body language. At the same time, I recognised areas for improvement such as pronunciation accuracy, voice modulation, and fluency in Hindi dialogues. This awareness has motivated me to continue improving my communication skills.
LO2: Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken and skills develope
Performing a play in Hindi was a significant challenge because it required precise pronunciation, memorisation of dialogues, emotional expression, and timing. Through regular rehearsals, I developed better linguistic fluency, clarity of speech, expressive delivery, and confidence on stage. I also learned how to adapt my performance based on feedback from teachers and peers, which improved my overall performance quality.
LO3: Initiate and plan a CAS experience
This CAS experience required careful planning and preparation. I followed a rehearsal schedule, memorised scripts in advance, practised pronunciation, and coordinated with my team for stage blocking and timing. I took responsibility for preparing my role effectively so that the overall performance could run smoothly. This strengthened my planning, organisation, and time management skills.
LO4: Show commitment and perseverance in CAS experience
There were times when memorising long dialogues and balancing rehearsals with academic work felt difficult. However, I remained committed to the process, attended all rehearsals, and continuously practised my role. Performing confidently on the final day was a result of my discipline, dedication, and perseverance throughout the experience.
LO5: Demonstrate skills and benefits of working collaboratively
A stage play depends entirely on teamwork. I worked closely with my peers to coordinate scenes, maintain timing, support each other during rehearsals, and deliver a smooth final performance. I learned the importance of clear communication, trust, cooperation, and mutual support. Working as a team made the experience more enjoyable and successful.
Conclusion
The Hindi immersion play was a highly valuable creativity CAS experience. It helped me enhance my communication skills, creativity, confidence, and teamwork abilities, while also deepening my appreciation for the Hindi language and performing arts. This experience pushed me out of my comfort zone and helped me grow as a communicator and performer. It remains one of the most enjoyable and meaningful CAS activities I have completed.
