The CAS Project was a unique and meaningful experience that allowed me to combine my interest in finance and investing with the goal of spreading financial awareness among others. As part of this project, I researched, planned, and published four blogs covering personal finance and investment-related concepts. The project aimed to simplify complex financial topics and make them more accessible to readers, particularly students and young individuals who may not have prior knowledge of these subjects.
This CAS Project enabled me to develop a deeper understanding of financial literacy while also strengthening my communication, research, and content creation skills. Through the process of creating educational content, I realized the importance of presenting information in a simple, engaging, and accurate manner. The project was both challenging and rewarding, as it allowed me to contribute positively by helping others become more informed about financial decision-making.
LO1: Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth
The project helped me recognize several of my strengths, including my interest in finance, ability to conduct research, and willingness to learn independently. At the same time, it highlighted areas where I could improve, particularly in simplifying technical financial concepts for a general audience. As I progressed through each blog, I became better at presenting information in a concise and reader-friendly manner. This growth improved both my writing skills and my ability to communicate complex ideas effectively.
LO3: Demonstrate how to initiate and plan a CAS experience / project
This learning outcome was strongly demonstrated throughout the project. Since the project was initiated by me, I was responsible for planning its overall structure and objectives. Before writing the blogs, I identified key financial topics that would be relevant and useful to the target audience. I then created a timeline for researching, drafting, reviewing, and publishing each blog. Considerable planning was required to ensure that the information was accurate, understandable, and organized logically. Throughout the project, I also adapted my plans based on the complexity of the topics and the amount of research required, which helped me understand the importance of flexibility and effective project management.
LO4: Show commitment to and perseverance in CAS experiences
The project required sustained effort over an extended period of time. Each blog involved extensive research, fact-checking, drafting, editing, and revising before it was finalized. There were occasions when understanding certain financial concepts or finding reliable sources was challenging, which made the writing process more time-consuming than expected. However, I remained committed to completing all four blogs and maintaining the quality of the content. My perseverance throughout the project allowed me to overcome these challenges and successfully achieve the goals I had set at the beginning of the project.
LO5: Demonstrate the skills and recognize the benefits of working collaboratively
Collaboration played an important role in the success of this CAS Project. Throughout the process, I worked with peers and mentors who provided valuable feedback on the clarity, structure, and effectiveness of the blogs. Discussing ideas with others helped me identify areas that could be improved and ensured that the content was understandable to readers with different levels of financial knowledge. This collaborative process highlighted the value of diverse perspectives and showed me how constructive feedback can significantly improve the quality of a project. It also strengthened my communication and teamwork skills.
Overall, this CAS Project was an enriching experience that allowed me to apply my knowledge and interests in a meaningful way. By creating educational financial content, I was able to contribute towards improving financial awareness while also developing valuable personal and academic skills. The project taught me the importance of planning, perseverance, collaboration, and effective communication, all of which will benefit me in future endeavors.
