For my CAS experience, I undertook a Hindi Immersion and Dance Performance CAS experience to enhance my language skills, cultural understanding, and artistic expression. Through Hindi immersion, I practiced conversational Hindi, explored literature and traditions, and interacted with native speakers, which improved my fluency, confidence, and cultural awareness. Alongside this, I participated in a dance performance, which allowed me to express creativity, work collaboratively with my peers, and develop perseverance and commitment. Together, these experiences helped me grow as a communicator, inquirer, and open-minded individual while building confidence in both language and performing arts.

LO2 – Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills

During my Hindi Immersion experience, I faced the challenge of communicating in a language I was not fully fluent in. This required me to step out of my comfort zone, practice consistently, and develop new skills in speaking, listening, and comprehension. By engaging with native speakers and exploring Hindi literature and traditions, I was able to improve my fluency and gain confidence, demonstrating that I undertook challenges and successfully developed new language and cultural skills.

LO4 – Show perseverance and commitment in CAS experience

During my Hindi Immersion experience, I consistently dedicated time and effort to practice speaking, listening, and understanding Hindi, even when it was challenging. I committed to improving my fluency through daily practice, engaging with native speakers, and exploring Hindi literature and culture. This perseverance allowed me to make steady progress, build confidence, and achieve meaningful personal growth in both language skills and cultural understanding.

CONCLUSION

Overall, this CAS experience helped me grow both personally and culturally. Through Hindi immersion, I improved my language skills, deepened my understanding of Indian traditions, and learned to communicate more effectively. The dance performance taught me perseverance, teamwork, and self-expression, while also boosting my confidence. Together, these experiences allowed me to develop key IB Learner Profile attributes such as being a communicator, open-minded, reflective, and principled, and helped me appreciate the value of dedication, collaboration, and cultural engagement.
