Introduction-During my CAS journey, I took part in a drama for the Hindi Immersion event. In the play, I acted as a lawyer who supported the Hindi language over English. It was a really interesting and creative experience because it allowed me to express myself through acting while also promoting our culture and language. At first, I was a bit nervous to perform on stage, but by the end, I felt confident and proud of our performance.
(LO2 – Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills)
Being part of the drama came with many challenges. I had to learn long dialogues in Hindi and make sure I spoke them clearly and with emotion. At first, it was hard to remember everything and perform in front of so many people, but I kept practicing until I got better. This helped me improve my public speaking and acting skills. I also became more confident expressing my thoughts and feelings in front of an audience.
(LO5 – Demonstrate the skills and recognize the benefits of working collaboratively)
The best part of the experience was working as a team. Everyone had their own role, and we had to support one another to make the play successful. We practiced together, helped each other with lines, and made sure our timing was perfect. I learned how important communication and cooperation are when working in a group. When everyone listens, shares ideas, and respects each other, everything runs smoothly.
LO6 – Engagement with issues of global significance)
Our drama focused on the importance of preserving and respecting the Hindi language, which connects to the global issue of protecting cultural identity and diversity. Many languages are disappearing because people focus more on global ones like English. Through our play, we wanted to remind everyone that all languages have value and deserve respect. It made me realize how important it is to celebrate and protect our own culture while also appreciating others.
Throughout this experience, I showed the learner profile of a Communicator. I learned how to express my thoughts clearly, both on stage and with my teammates. I also improved how I listen and respond to others. Being a communicator helped me perform confidently and work well with my group.
Conclusion-Overall, this was a very enjoyable and creative CAS experience. It helped me gain confidence, improve my communication skills, and understand the importance of teamwork and cultural pride.
