Kalakriti was one of the most memorable experience of my cas journey under the strand of creativity.I had the opportunity to participate as an anchor in this event, where several school came and showcase their talent. For me this opportunity as an anchor was not just about holding a mic and speaking with the audience but, also building up my confidence, managing responsibility and being a part of creative platform. The event also gave me a chance of to step out of my comfort zone and try something new that I had never done. Kalakriti gave me an opportunity to not only practice public speaking but also to grow as a communicator, leader, and team member. It was an experience where creativity was not limited to the stage performances, but extended to how I presented myself, interacted with participants, and kept the program engaging.
LO2 : taking on challenges and developing new skills
Doing anchoring in kalakriti was a major challenge for me because earlier I had problem with public speaking and mistakes. But through consistent practice and preparation, I gradually built confidence. One of the biggest challenges I faced was keeping the flow of the program intact despite sudden changes, like when a performance was delayed or when a participant wasn’t ready on time. In those moments, I had to improvise, fill in the gaps with energy, and keep the audience engaged without showing panic. This taught me how to stay calm under pressure, think creatively in the moment, and manage unexpected situations with confidence.
LO5 : Working collaboratively with others
Kalakriti was truly a team effort. Coordinating with co-anchors, teachers, performers, and organizers taught me the value of communication, patience, and teamwork. I had to learn to listen actively, adjust to last-minute changes, and support my peers when needed. I realized that collaboration is about giving and taking, understanding different perspectives, and working together towards a shared goal. The event wouldn’t have been successful without every individual contributing their part, and being part of this collective effort was incredibly rewarding.
LO6 : Appreciating creativity and cultural exchange
One of the most beautiful aspects of Kalakriti was witnessing the variety of creative expressions from students of different schools. Each performance had its own style, emotion, and story. I realised that creativity is not only about showcasing talent t’s about connecting with others, sharing perspectives, and celebrating diversity. It made me value the power of creativity to bring people together.
Overall,Kalakriti was a valuable CAS experience where I learned new skills and applied them in a practical setting. Anchoring helped me improve my communication and presentation abilities, while also teaching me how to manage responsibilities under pressure. Working with others gave me insight into teamwork and coordination, and observing different performances allowed me to appreciate creativity in many forms. This activity contributed to my personal growth and fulfilled important learning outcomes of CAS.
