Bhavar Kada Waterfalls Trek – CAS Reflections
On the 25th of July, 2025, we left for the Bhavar Kada waterfalls for our CAS Trip, located near the region of Dang. The trek turned out to be a physically demanding experience because of the constant rain and slippery paths. The entire trek, including going down the the waterfalls and coming back to the busses took around 4 hours.
Despite the difficulty, The journey and experience was still good. due to the rain the path was extremely muddy which caused a lot of sliping .This made the trek harder as we had to keep our balance at all times. We also had to think fast about movement as if we slip and do not take a hold of a nearby rock or tree we could slip into the jungle.
Learning Outcome 1 – Identify Strengths and Develop Areas for Growth
This trek revealed both strengths and areas for personal improvement. I found out that i am able to stay perfectly calm in difficult situations. I also found that I was able to support others along the way, helping my friends regain balance at times. At the same time, I realized I need to improve my stamina and leg strength, as the uphill climb, especially near the end where the steps were almost halfway up my knees, was too tiring. With the trek i found out that there are a lot of things important for activities and situations like this, and consistent physical training is one of them.
Learning Outcome 2 – Demonstrate That Challenges Have Been Undertaken, Developing New Skills in the Process
The slippery paths, combined with the rain, made this trek a real test of our resilience and adaptability. We slipped, got muddy, and even got hurt sometimes. Along the way, I developed skills like how to maintain balance, how to place my feet and how to adjust my walking to suit the terrain. I also learned to stay aware of my surroundings and make quick decisions which are key skills for any trek. More importantly, I developed problem-solving skills and a better understanding of how to adapt to changing environments.
Learning Outcome 4 – Show Perseverance and Commitment in CAS Experience
There were a lot of times where a lot of us wanted to give up, as because of the rain and few jumps the pathway was too dangerous, But we kept going. Even through fatigue and discomfort, we had to stay foccused in order to not fall. This experience showed how commitment, perseverance, and team support are really important during times and situations like this.
