Date – 24th August 2025 , 16th November 2025 , 18th January 2026

For my CAS strand , service , I participated in plantation activities which I have done 3 times across different dates. This activity mainly involved planting the plants in areas where the organizator thought it was great to plant in and to contribute to the environment. Originally , I thought this activity would be a easy and a straightforward task but after actually doing it.I realised that there is actually more effort and consistency required than I initially expected. I participated for three times because I understood the importance of maintaining the environment rather than just doing a one-time effort.

LO3 : Demonstrate how to initiate and plan a CAS experience

For this plantation activity , initiation played an important role especially since I did this activity multiple times. I don’t like to participate in activities with mud or dirtiness so initiating was a huge step for me.Initianting actually become the hardest part since for during the first plantation , it rained heavy which led to a lot of wet mud an dirtiness , which I don’t like.But I still initiated and continued for the next two times.

Planning also was a huge part since I had to try to plan through estimation when the plantations may take place.I couldn’t go to the plantation which took place towards the end of september since I had basketball ISSO in Jaipur.So I had to plan when I’ll cover up for it.

LO6 : Demonstrate engagement with issues of global significance

This plantation activity links directly to global environmental issues such as deforestation , climate change and loss of greenery. Even though my participation and what I did in the plantations was on a smaller scale , it still contributes to the bigger goal of saving the environment. Planting more trees and plants helps improve air quality , supports ecosystems and also benefits us with more greenery and better air quality.

Participating in these plantations made me realise that small actions can still have an impact if many people do it together. Also it made me more aware about how important it is to increase greenery in our urban living areas.

LO7 : Recognize and consider the ethics of choices and actions

From an ethical side , plantation is clear demonstration of a positive action since it contributes to the environment positively and benefits our own society. However I also thought about responsibility and consistency.Because , It is easy and quick to plant something once but not take care of it afterwards which would make the effort pointless.Actions like plantations should be done multiple times.So ethically it is important that actions taken are sustainable and meaningful rather than just for the sake of completing a task.

This activity also made me think about how my actions can affect the environment and other people in long term. By participating in plantation , I am contributing positively and not causing harm. To increase awareness and action , I could encourage others to take part in similar activities to help benefit the environment.

Overall , doing plantation 3 times helped me understand the importance of consistency , responsibility and environmental awareness. It was a simple activity on the surface but it taught me meaningful lessons about contributing to the environment and thinking about the long term impact of my actions.
