Rural Immersion – Trip to Padamdungri

Our school organized a 5–6 day CAS trip to Padam Dungri in Dang district. The purpose of this trip was to learn about the lifestyle, culture, and daily routines of the local tribal community. During the visit, we experienced how the people live close to nature and followed some of their daily activities. We also explored nearby local places and interacted with the community. LO2 – Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills

During the CAS trip to Padam Dungri, I faced several new challenges that helped me develop new skills. Living in a different environment and adapting to the simple lifestyle of the tribal community was not easy at first. I had to step out of my comfort zone and try activities that I had never done before. Through this experience, I improved my communication skills while interacting with local people and learned how to adjust to new surroundings. I also developed teamwork and problem-solving skills while working with my classmates during different activities. These challenges helped me learn new things and become more confident.

Living in a different environment and following a new routine required effort and patience, but I stayed involved and tried my best to learn from the experience. By staying committed and not giving up, I was able to make the most of the trip and gain valuable learning from it.

LO5 – Demonstrate skills and benefits of working collaboratively.

During the CAS trip to Padam Dungri, many activities required us to work together in groups. I collaborated with my classmates to complete different tasks and participate in community activities. During the CAS trip to Padam Dungri, I became more aware of issues that affect many communities around the world. By observing the lifestyle of the tribal community, I understood some of the challenges they face, such as limited access to education and basic facilities. This experience helped me think about the importance of sustainable living and quality education. It made me realize that these issues are not only local but also global, and it is important for people to be aware of them and try to bring positive change in the future.

LO7 – Recognise and consider the ethics of choices and actions.

During the CAS trip to Padam Dungri, I learned the importance of respecting different cultures and ways of living.
