Activity 1: Bhavar kada waterfalls trek (25/07/25)

As a part of my CAS – activity I went on a trek to Bhavar Kada waterfalls. The main purpose of my hike to Bhavar Kada Waterfalls was to challenge myself, to be one with nature, and to gain physical as well as mental toughness.Trekking is a physically demanding and risky adventure that requires one to have a lot of energy, good coordination, and above all, a good team spirit. It pushes the body to the limit but at the same time the brain is also refreshed making the one appreciate the beauty of nature.By means of this trek, I intended to measure my physical fitness, develop my endurance, and at the same time fortify my capacity to stay composed and motivated in alien and strenuous situations.

Learning outcome – 1: Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth

While trekking I found out that keeping a positive outlook and encouraging others even when I was very tired was one of my strengths. But then again, I recognized that I often undervalue my physical stamina which at first made me feel reluctant to take the tougher trails.I want to do regular exercises and fitness sessions as my means of raising my confidence in physical challenges.Conquering this weakness would have resulted in my greater enjoyment of the trek instead of being preoccupied with the thought of whether or not I could keep up.This incident has enlightened me that the process of growth starts off with the acknowledgment of my limitation and then the taking of the appropriate steps to expand them.

Learning outcome – 2: Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in the process

The most difficult part of the trek was crossing over the rocky path that was very slippery and climbing down the steep slopes, particularly after the rain had made the trail muddy. It was a great physical test and required perfect balance and full concentration.I had hiked before but only for a short distance; I had no such stamina for this trek, which was even more intense demand.I managed to conquer the challenge by taking slow, gradual steps, going by our guide’s directions, and being there for my teammates when one of them lost their balance or felt worn-out.It was great undertaking such a challenge that filled me with pride and gave me a sense of my own capability, along with the reminder that perseverance and patience are the very things that make up success. Moreover, I also got the chance to practice my spatial awareness and understand weight distribution while moving over bumpy ground. This skill would apply not only in future trekking but also in a sports or daily activity where balance and coordination are required.I am developing and learning new skills like this which give me extra confidence and make me less dependent on others, thus I believe it is very important to keep challenging ourselves in order to grow through the process.

Learning Outcome – 4: Show commitment to and perseverance in CAS experiences

Strong commitment was necessary for the trek to Bhavar Kheda Waterfalls, particularly when the trail got steep and slippery.I continued to urge myself and look after my movement despite feeling drained.I gradually got the revelation of mental power and persistence through the support of motivation and my steadfastness. It was not that easy every time to keep going, but I would tell myself the goal and flip over to the fun part of the trip. This situation made me feel like the reward of perseverance is not only the growth of self-esteem and strength but also a great joy that comes from the accomplishment of a hard task.

Learning Outcome – 5:Demonstrate the skills and recognize the benefits of working collaboratively

The collaboration with fellow trekkers turned out to be both fun and educational. It is usually quite easy for me to work in groups since I like to communicate and encourage others; however, there were times when it was difficult to coordinate with those who were not as fast as me.The activity brought about teamwork in a great way, wherein we assisted each other in crossing water streams, gave snacks and water to one another, and cheered up the ones who were finding the hike hard. Some participants were novice and had problem of getting tired soon, and that was the time I realized how important it is to be patient and give support instead of pushing in ahead of the person who is struggling. The necessity of cooperation and understanding during the group activities was pointed out to me by this. The hiking trip was not only made easier by teamwork but also by the developing feeling of unity and accomplishment which turned out to be a more memorable experience for the whole group.

Overall, the hike to the Bhavar Kheda Waterfalls was a complete personal and interpersonal growth experience. It worked out as a way to connect with nature, overcome personal limits, and realize the value of cooperation and persistence.I came back from the hike more self-confident, more aware of my own limitations, and more willing to face new challenges. The experience was a reminder of the fact that personal development occurs when we go out of our comfort zones and at the same time lend a helping hand to others.
