Bhavar Kada water fall trek (Activity)

Introduction: On 25th July, students from Grades 11 and 12 participated in a one-day trek to Bhavar Kada Waterfalls in Dang. We departed early in the morning at around 5:45 AM, excited for the journey ahead. The trek lasted nearly four hours and involved continuous rainfall, slippery paths, and steep climbs. It was both physically demanding and mentally challenging. The experience allowed us to connect with nature, collaborate as a group, and step beyond our comfort zones.

LO1 – Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth: During the trek, I realized that I have strong endurance and was able to keep going despite the difficult terrain. At the same time, I noticed that my balance needs improvement, especially on wet and uneven surfaces. I learned to maintain a steady pace instead of rushing and became more aware of how to stay calm in challenging outdoor conditions. This helped me identify both my strengths and areas where I can improve, such as stability and controlled movement.

LO2 – Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in the process: The trek presented several challenges. The rain made the trails muddy, requiring careful and precise steps. While descending was difficult, climbing uphill for long periods without slipping was even more demanding. I improved my concentration and learned how to assist others when they faced difficulties. There were moments when I felt like stopping, but I continued, which strengthened my mental resilience. This experience helped me build determination, teamwork, and the ability to stay motivated under pressure.

LO4 – Show commitment to and perseverance in CAS experiences: This activity highlighted the importance of persistence and dedication. Despite feeling tired, soaked, and hungry, we kept moving forward and encouraged one another. I remained focused on reaching the waterfall and did not give up, even when it became difficult. It showed me that perseverance is about continuing with effort and determination, rather than being the fastest or strongest.

Conclusion: The Bhavar Kada trek was more than just an adventurous outing; it was a valuable learning experience. I recognized my strengths, worked on my weaknesses, and developed a stronger mindset. It also gave me insight into a simpler lifestyle and the importance of resilience. Overall, this CAS activity contributed to my physical and mental growth while creating unforgettable memories with my peers.
