As part of my CAS Activity Experience, I participated in a one-day trek to Bhavar Kada Waterfalls organized by my school on 25th July 2025. The day began at 5:30 am and ended around 10:30 pm, with a four-hour trek through mountainous terrain to reach the waterfall and climb back.
Trekking has never really been my forte, so I initially doubted my ability to complete it. The journey was physically exhausting, and there were moments when I felt like giving up. However, I pushed myself to keep going and successfully completed the trek, which gave me a strong sense of accomplishment and made me realise the importance of perseverance.
Along the way, I also learned more about natural resources and became more aware of my physical strengths and limitations. The rainfall during the trek made the experience even more enjoyable and memorable. Overall, it was a challenging yet rewarding experience that pushed me out of my comfort zone and helped me grow.
LO1: Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth
The trek made me realise that physical activities like this are not really my forte. I found the long hours and steep climbs quite exhausting, and there were moments where I felt like I wouldn’t be able to complete it. However, I still pushed myself and managed to finish the entire trek. This helped me understand that while stamina is an area I need to improve, I do have the determination to keep going even when things get difficult.
LO4: Show commitment and perseverance in CAS experiences
This experience required a lot of perseverance, especially during the more challenging parts of the trek. Despite feeling tired and wanting to stop at times, I stayed committed and continued moving forward. Completing the trek showed me the importance of not giving up halfway and staying dedicated to what I start, even when it feels uncomfortable or difficult.
Overall, this experience pushed me out of my comfort zone and helped me grow by showing me that with commitment and perseverance, I can overcome challenges even in areas that are not my strengths.
