CAS Strand – Activity
Date – 19th-21st August
For my CAS activity , I participated in my school’s cross country. The cross country happened on a course of 3 days. Two were 3km and one was 5km.I originally thought the runs would be very easy but I ended up struggling a bit as I used my stamina in the beginning , especially in the 5km run.The cross country helped me learn to push through my limits.

LO1 – Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth
Participating in the cross country helped me see my strengths and areas for growth.A major strength I identified was my overall stamina and mental ability as I finished the race within the top 5 in all three races in my grade. While running even if I got tired in the end of 5km race , I kept going and finished with a good time. However , A area of growth I can focus on is my pace.In all the races , especially the 5km run , I started very quick and was tired quite early.
LO2 – Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills
A major challenged I faced was running way to fast at the beginning of the races. It affected me only a little in the 3km races but it had heavy impact on the 5km run.As I used a lot of energy at the start , I got tired at 2.5 km.Having to run the same amount again while being tired was a grueling task.So a new skill from this challenge I was able to develop is patience and controlling myself.I now stay consistant during activities I can get mentally or physically fatigued. This helps me complete my tasks , especially playing basketball as I can have my energy for the whole time.
LO4 – Show perseverance and commitment in CAS experience
I had through stay consistent throughout the days of cross-country to participate.I attended the cross-country even if I was tired or hurt. One of the days , I was really tired as the cross-country was after my basketball club , so even though I played basketball for 1.5 hours , I still ran and gave it my all. This taught my the importance of consistency and determination.
Overall , This participation in the Cross country helped me develop myself mentally and physically as I went through challenges which helped me grow as an athele and a person as well.
