Hindi Immersion Drama (Creativity)

Hindi Immersion Drama

As part of the Hindi immersion program, I took part in a stage production “हिंदी बनाम उपेक्षा”. The play took place in a courtroom and creatively demonstrated and represented the importance of preserving Hindi in a globalized world today.

LO1 (Identify own strengths & develop areas for growth): I discovered that I enjoy acting and can easily express emotions in front of an audience. I also realized that I have to devote further time and energy into improving my Hindi pronunciation and fluency to deliver lines in a more natural manner.

LO2 (Undertaking challenges & developing new skills): Performing entirely in Hindi was a challenging experience as I had to memorize a full script with both dialogue and narrative, learn and refine my tone and emotions, and utilize body language to complete the performance. This experience ultimately increased my confidence in public speaking and communicating creatively.

LO4 (Show commitment & perseverance): As with many dramas and performances, the preparation required multiple rehearsals and coordinated teamwork. I committed to learning my own speaking role, and committed to supporting my peers therefore the final performance was able to be presented in an organized and engaging manner.

Overall, this performance helped me develop creativity, collaboration, and appreciation for the cultural value of the Hindi language. By performing entirely in Hindi, I strengthened my communication skills and gained respect for the effort required to preserve cultural roots in a globalized world. Rehearsing with my peers emphasized the importance of teamwork and mutual support, while the final performance boosted my confidence to step out of my comfort zone. This experience has inspired me to continue seeking opportunities that combine creativity, cultural appreciation, and collaboration.
