ISSO GAMES Under 19 Boys Football

I participated in the ISSO National Games held in Jaipur this year as the captain of our U-19 boys’ football team of 16 players. It was an exciting and challenging experience — we gave our all on the field, using every bit of our stamina. Although we lost in the quarterfinals, it was a valuable opportunity to lead, collaborate, and grow as a team.

LO2 – Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills

Participating in the ISSO National Games as captain of our U-19 football team was both physically and mentally demanding. Leading a team of 16 players through intense matches and strategic planning pushed me beyond my comfort zone. I had to make quick decisions, stay composed under stress, and motivate the team even when things got tough. This experience helped me build stronger leadership and communication skills, while also improving my ability to stay focused and adaptable in challenging situations.

LO3 – Initiate and plan a CAS experience

As team captain, I was actively involved in initiating and planning strategies for the ISSO National Games. I worked closely with our coach to track our progress, and ensure that each team member was clear on their role and responsibilities. I also helped in planning travel logistics and team strategies for the tournament. Taking on this responsibility helped me understand the importance of detailed planning, time management, and clear communication in making any team effort successful.

LO4 – Show perseverance and commitment in CAS experience

Days of preparation were necessary for our trip to the ISSO National Games, which included fitness training, friendly matches, and early morning workouts. In spite of my ailments, exhaustion, and academic obligations, I never wavered in my commitment to my captaincy and to helping my comrades. Even after losing in the quarterfinals, we maintained our optimism and considered how we had developed as a group. This experience showed me that perseverance is about turning up consistently, working together to improve, and maintaining focus on long-term objectives, not just on winning.

LO5 – Demonstrate the skills and benefits of working collaboratively

We demonstrated the value of teamwork at the ISSO National Games, where we played football, a true team sport. As captain, it was my responsibility to make sure that each player agreed with our team’s objectives and felt appreciated. Through exchanging criticism, growing from our errors, and helping one another through difficult times, we collaborated to establish trust both on and off the field. I now have a greater respect for collaboration and know how to unite people to accomplish a shared goal thanks to this experience.
