Bhavar Kada Waterfalls, Dang
The trek to Bhavar Kada Waterfall has been one of the most memorable experiences in my CAS journey. Counted as an Activity, this one day long excursion challenged me physically and mentally as I ecnountered steep, rocky paths and kept motivation throughout, through long, demanding stretches of the trek. Away from the routine of school and comfort zones, the experience provided me a fresh perspective on my strengths, stamina, and the importance of staying present in the moment.
LO1: Identifying strengths and areas for growth
Embarking on the trek made me realize how much I value perseverance and focus in achieving goals. The physical demands were significant, especially during the climb, but I noticed that maintaining a positive attitude and encouraging and talking to my friends and peers helped me overcome moments of exhaustion. Reflecting on my performance, I identified my resilience and ability to stay calm under pressure as key strengths, while learning that pacing myself and preserving energy are very important areas for growth, especially in outdoor activities like this.
LO2: Undertaking challenges and developing new skills
The trek was far more challenging than my previous one day trek experiences because of the unfamiliar terrain and unpredictable weather (rain). Navigating the rocky path sharpened both my observational skills and decision making skills, and I picked up new trekking techniques as I adapted to the environment. This growth was not just technical but the sense of achievement after reaching the waterfall kept my belief intact in stepping into discomfort to push personal boundaries and learn outside the classroom while taking on challenges to grow as a student and a person overall.
LO4: Showing commitment and perseverance
Committing to the trek required focus and determination throughout, specially when fatigue came into picture during the route. There were moments when I questioned whether I would make it to the end, but collaborating with my group, sharing encouragement, and visualizing the goal kept me motivated. The satisfaction that came with reaching the waterfall was a testament to the power of perseverance reminding me that steady effort even when there are obstacles, can turn a challenging day into a rewarding memory.
The trek to Bhavar Kada Waterfall did not just test physical limits but it expanded my understanding of personal growth and the value of commitment, making it a defining and important part of my CAS journey.
