For my CAS experience, I participated in a plantation service activity at BSNL in the morning with the aim of making the area greener and more environmentally friendly. During this activity, I planted different types of plants in a small area of land along with others, which helped improve the surroundings and promote greenery. I chose this experience because I enjoy being close to nature and wanted to understand how planting trees and plants can positively impact our environment. Through this activity, I also learned how greenery helps improve air quality, supports life, and creates a healthier environment for people and other living beings. The experience was meaningful and satisfying because it allowed me to contribute positively to nature and society. It also made me feel responsible for protecting the environment and encouraged me to take small steps towards sustainability in my daily life.
Through this experience, I developed the learner profile attribute of being Caring , as I understood the importance of protecting nature and contributing towards a healthier and greener world.
LO6 – Engagement with issues of global significance :
Through the plantation service, I engaged with the global issue of environmental damage, including lack of greenery and increasing air pollution. These issues are not only local but affect people and ecosystems all around the world. By participating in planting trees, I contributed in a small but meaningful way towards improving environmental conditions and promoting sustainability. This experience helped me understand how individual actions, like planting plants, can collectively make a difference in addressing global challenges such as climate change and pollution. It also made me more aware of the importance of protecting natural resources and maintaining ecological balance for future generations.
LO7 – Recognise and consider the ethics of choices and actions :
During this CAS experience, I recognised the importance of making ethical choices towards the environment. Choosing to participate in the plantation activity showed my responsibility towards nature and society. I understood that human actions, such as cutting trees or neglecting the environment, can lead to serious consequences like pollution and climate issues. By planting trees, I made a positive and ethical choice that supports sustainability and the well-being of others. This experience helped me reflect on how my actions can impact the environment and encouraged me to make more responsible and environmentally friendly decisions in the future.
