This CAS experience involved supporting the organisation of Trajectory at school. My responsibilities included preparing name tags for each table by placing them into transparent name holders and organising certificates by separating them properly and placing them into files. I worked alongside a friend during these tasks, which allowed us to divide the work and complete the preparation efficiently. Although the responsibilities were simple, they required careful attention to detail and organisation, as the materials needed to be prepared correctly for the event. Through this experience, I contributed to the smooth functioning of the event while developing my sense of responsibility, organisation, teamwork, and attention to detail.
LO2 – Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills
The experience helped me develop my organisational and attention-to-detail skills. Preparing a large number of name tags and certificates required me to work carefully and systematically to ensure that everything was correctly arranged. I learned that even routine responsibilities require concentration and consistency when they contribute to a larger event.
LO4 – Show commitment to and perseverance in CAS experiences
I remained committed to completing the preparation tasks assigned to me and worked through the required materials carefully. Separating and organising the certificates and preparing the name tags required patience and consistency, particularly when completing a repetitive task. Completing the responsibilities properly demonstrated my ability to remain focused until the work was finished.
LO5 – Demonstrate the skills and recognise the benefits of working collaboratively
I worked with a friend while preparing the materials for the event. We divided the responsibilities between us and coordinated our work to ensure that the name tags and certificates were prepared efficiently. This showed me how sharing responsibilities and communicating clearly can make completing a task more organised and effective.
LO7 – Recognise and consider the ethics of choices and actions
The preparation of certificates and name tags required me to be responsible and careful because these materials were intended for participants and guests at the event. I understood that completing my responsibilities accurately was important to avoid mistakes that could affect others. This experience reinforced the importance of taking responsibility for even small tasks and considering how my actions contributed to the overall event.
Learner Profile Attributes
This experience helped me develop as a Principled learner by completing my assigned responsibilities carefully and responsibly. I also developed as a Communicator through coordinating with my friend and discussing how we would divide the work. As a Balanced learner, I managed a repetitive task while maintaining focus and attention to detail. I also became more Reflective by recognising how seemingly small responsibilities can contribute to the successful organisation of a larger event.
Overall, the Trajectory event was a simple but useful experience that showed me the importance of organisation, responsibility, and teamwork. Preparing the materials required accuracy and attention to detail, while working with a friend demonstrated the benefits of sharing responsibilities. The experience helped me understand that contributing to an event does not always involve a major role, as smaller tasks can also support its smooth functioning.
