LO 2: Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in the process
As part of my CAS experience, I visited Bhavar Khada Waterfall near Vapi on a school-organized trip. The journey lasted approximately 17 hours, which was both fun and memorable. However, the trip also required strong physical endurance and mental determination to cope with the weather conditions, forest terrain, and the challenges of trekking.
Since it was my first trekking experience, I initially had little understanding of what to expect. The trek, which lasted around 2.5 hours, was physically demanding and at times exhausting. The rain made the path extremely slippery, adding to the difficulty. Despite these challenges, I remained determined and motivated myself not to give up, which helped me successfully complete the trek.
One aspect that particularly impressed me was the cleanliness of the area. I observed that there was almost no plastic waste, as most visitors carried bags to collect their trash. This made me realize that people are becoming more environmentally responsible and aware.
This experience contributed significantly to my personal growth. The trek taught me leadership skills, as I encouraged and motivated others to overcome difficulties. I also learned practical skills such as trekking safely, avoiding overconfidence, and staying alert in natural surroundings where insects and animals may be present.
Most importantly, this trip highlighted the importance of staying connected with nature. Engaging in such activities regularly can improve both physical and mental well-being, provide relief from academic stress, and allow one to enjoy fresh air and natural beauty.
In conclusion, this trek taught me that adventure can be both challenging and enjoyable. It helped me develop resilience, learn new skills, and appreciate nature with an open mind.
