Bhavar Kada Waterfalls Trek

Type of CAS : Activity

Location : Bhavar Kada Waterfalls, Maharashtra.

On July 25, 2025 we set out on a one-day trek to the breathtaking Bhavar Kada Waterfalls in the Dang region. The journey to get there was no small feat as it was a four-hour trek that led us through steep descents and slippery mud-slicked paths that challenged our endurance and tested our balance but the promise of the cascading waterfall ahead kept us going.

LO1 – Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth Screen reader support enabled

The four-hour walk to Bhavar Kada Waterfalls seriously tested me both physically and mentally. I faced many obstacles like not only climbing up but also coming down along the slippery trail, and as a result, I unearthed some of my best qualities remaining calm and focused during the unexpected, slippery conditions, and motivating others to overcome their fears. I felt a lot of happiness while helping my fellow team members keep their balance and gain confidence.
Simultaneously, the journey corroborated deficiencies in me. The more arduous parts of the walk made me more fatigued than I had anticipated, so I have been made aware of my leg strength and stamina needs improvement. It definitely gave me a reality check that endurance training should be included in my usual schedule if I want to succeed. Thoroughly, this excursion was more than just a mere hike it actually became a kind of personal check-in, showing me how I cope with physical difficulties and where I can challenge myself further.

LO2 – Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills

This hike was nowhere near a casual walk — it was a test that needed determination, flexibility, and cooperation. Trails covered with mud made the way slippery, and steep descents forced me to quickly grasp and use basic trekking skills on the spot. Each step necessitated cautious reasoning — choosing the place for my feet, figuring out how to keep my balance, and if I used the rocks or branches as natural supports. In addition to that, I was able to also develop my softer skills such as situational awareness, cooperation, and resilience. Even if I had a few minor slips and had to endure the physical strain, I kept going without giving up, which made reaching the waterfall even more satisfying. Such experiences are a great reminder of the importance of pushing my limits and dealing with discomfort in a learning and growth way of mind.

LO4 – Show perseverance and commitment in CAS experience

The journey was definitely not a smooth one, at several points of time, we were looking for energy and had no motivation because of water, dirt, and walking for over four hours. However, we were still going, each of us was giving the other one strength. When we arrived at the waterfall, the feeling of success combined with the excitement of refreshing ourselves with water made that all worthwhile. It was an exciting and at the same time adventurous prize for our endurance, and it needed real dedication to finish the hike as fast and safe as possible.

Upon calm and peaceful reflection, my participation in this journey gave me a chance to develop one of the learner profile attributes, the one that is called Risk Taker. I acted in a calculated manner when I was sliding in the mud, I was very careful so I would not get hurt and still, I did it successfully. Also, I presented Open-Mindedness, changing myself in a new environment and accepting it with the coming of new people and animals. The excursion has also shown me that issues may have many levels, but if we use the proper approach and have a positive attitude, they can be solved. Moreover, it gave a boost to my thinking during difficult times and to encouraging friends when they struggle as much as they helped me when I was in a similar situation.

Overall, the experience was fun, meaningful, and worth it especially after reaching the waterfall and making so many great memories along the way.
