Cross Country Running CAS Reflection.
In my CAS experience, I engaged in a set of consecutive cross-country 3 km, 3km and 5km running, where I personally contributed to the creation of my physical stamina, discipline and general fitness.
LO1- Recognizing Strengths and Areas of Improvement:
During the runs, I identified one of my major personal strengths, which is my ability to continue running despite being physically fatigued. I have discovered my ability to challenge myself to go through long distances. Simultaneously, I have also determined the areas that I need to work on, specifically, my speed and stamina, which will need on-going training and more organized running plan.
LO2 -Taking on New Challenges and Building New Skills:
Long distance running was a big challenge to me both psychologically and physically. It required specific attention to energy and management, as well as control of breathing and the possibility to keep a constant speed. I acquired new abilities like controlling my rhythm, checking my stamina and staying mentally focused on longer runs. These competencies enabled me to enhance my continuity and confidence.
LO4: Dedication and Perseverance:
My perseverance was put to test by the 5 km run in particular. It happened that I was sometimes tired and wanted to drink water, and I felt the need to quit. Nevertheless, my determination to do the work and my desire to do it better sustained me. These internal barriers were overcome to make the significance of persistence in physical exercises stronger.
All in all, my experience with cross-country running enhanced my strength, discipline, and determination to ensure my physical well-being. I got to know that patience and constant practice help one grow, and that the routines developed during physical training can be used in studies and personal ambitions. Above all, the experience taught me the necessity to keep on with working on my stamina and speed and bring the same determination to subsequent challenges in every sphere of life.
