HDP PS (Activity)

As part of my CAS experience in DP, I choose Badminton as my Personal Sport (P.S), the duration of P.S is year long. In the P.S I practiced and improved my badminton skills such as backhand, forehand, techniques, recalling the rules of singles and doubles, and played doubles matches.

LO 1 – Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth

Through regular badminton practice in P.S I realized my strength was in reflexes of forehand, services and doubles matches. Where I even understood my improvement areas which were backhand shots, single matches, and consistency in rallies. But as being regular in P.S I am gradually adapting the practice of backhand reflexes, single matches, and consistency with rallies.

LO 2 – Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in the process

In badminton, playing doubles required strong communication with our partner. And while playing badminton we require better hand and eye coordination, Strategic thinking, teamwork skills if required and accurate interpretation as if I interpret that the shuttle is going out of the court but touches on the line then my interpretation fails then that make me loss a point so having a strong and accurate interpretation is as well needed.

LO 4 – Show commitment to and perseverance in CAS experiences

Since I have committed a year long P.S, I regularly attended P.S and showed my dedication to improve. We did practice sessions, matches, and remained engaged in improving our performance by working on our weak area.
