Enrichment;

For my CAS Service component, I joined an enrichment program that involved me teaching younger children English and Math skills at nearby schools. The aim of this service project was to assist those children who did not have any extra assistance for their studies and make studying fun and interactive.

LO1: identifying my strengths and areas for growth.

Another important thing I learned is LO1, which entails knowing myself better in terms of both strength and weaknesses. From this module, I was able to learn that I possess the ability to explain difficult concepts in a simplified way, thus enabling me to make my students ask me any queries they might have had about my lectures. However, on the other hand, I needed to become more patient and flexible.

LO4: show commitment and perseverance

The other learning outcome that is worth mentioning is LO4: commitment and perseverance. I always made sure to attend the sessions and prepare lessons ahead of time, despite how challenging it was to balance between my studies and the sessions. This reflected my commitment and responsibility towards the activity and the children who attended it.

LO6: engagement with issues of global significance

The experience is also related to LO6: Engagement with global concerns, more specifically the concern of accessibility to quality education. Most learners enrolled in local schools do not receive adequate support from an academic perspective, and by engaging in the enrichment programme, I made some contribution towards eliminating the educational divide.

In conclusion, this CAS experience has been significant and aided me in gaining skills in communication, patience, and responsibility. It taught me that one could do something simple to make a difference within the community. I learned that everyone should have equal opportunities for education.
