FS got talent: CAS Creativity

For FS Got Talent, I took part both as a participant and as a volunteer. As a participant, I set up a stall with brownies and cocoa along with a few others. As a volunteer, I helped the core team by decorating the venue, sharing ideas, and making sure all the required materials were available.

Learning objective 1:Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth Screen reader support enabled.

During FS Got Talent, I learned how to manage tasks effectively while working closely with the event coordinator and my team. I realized I can work well in a team, but also identified that I need to improve my communication skills and ensure everyone clearly understands instructions. At times, especially during venue decoration, there were misunderstandings and miscommunication, particularly when managing time and coordinating multiple tasks. Despite these challenges, I stayed focused and worked well under pressure, helping to organize materials, support my teammates, and contribute to completing tasks efficiently. This experience taught me the importance of patience, adaptability, and careful communication. It reinforced the value of perseverance in overcoming challenges and ensuring that responsibilities are met, even when unexpected obstacles arise. As a participant, I helped prepare and run the brownie and cocoa stall. When our first batch of brownies did not turn out as expected, I collaborated with my team to adjust the recipe and improve the outcome, demonstrating perseverance and problem-solving.

Learning objective 5:  Demonstrate skills and benefits of working collaboratively

FS Got Talent provided me with a valuable opportunity to strengthen my teamwork and collaboration skills. While managing the brownie and cocoa stall, I worked closely with team members, sharing ideas, dividing responsibilities, and supporting each other to ensure the stall ran smoothly. This required careful coordination, patience, and the ability to adapt to different working styles. A key moment of learning was when our first batch of brownies did not turn out as expected. Instead of allowing this setback to cause frustration, we collaborated to adjust the recipe and improve the outcome, demonstrating the importance of teamwork in problem-solving.

Volunteering with the core team allowed me to further develop collaboration skills. I helped with venue decorations, suggested creative ideas, and supported other volunteers in completing their tasks. Working with a diverse group of people taught me how to communicate clearly, listen actively, and respect different perspectives.Overall, this experience highlighted how collaboration and cooperation can improve outcomes and make challenging tasks more achievable. It also showed me that effective teamwork requires flexibility, mutual support, and the willingness to contribute positively to group efforts.
