Interschool Frisbee Tournament

On 31st Jan I participated in the interschool frisbee tournament hosted by our school on our school ground, the overall experience taught me how much I had grown as a player and how much more I needed to grow.

LO1: Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth

While playing in the tournament there were quite a few moments where I felt outclassed or felt like I wasn’t good enough to play however this forced me to think on what I was doing good in order to make myself useful to the team and win the tournament.

LO2 – Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills

During the tournament there were many challenges I faced not only while playing but also preparing and coming to the tournament as well, time management, being punctual were all required for this tournament especially training sessions for the team which required us to do stayback and according manage our time outside school and training sessions.

LO3 – Initiate and plan a CAS experience

Due to many of our good players not being available and the event being announced to us on a short notice me and my peers had to gather a team of competent players before the deadline so that we atleast had a shot at winning the tournament. Me and our team captain were also the people who informed our coach we wanted to play and in turn intiate this tournament.

LO4 – Show perseverance and commitment in CAS experience

Despite being tired, long hours of practice and us being 2 man down on the day of the tournament we didnt back down, we played the best we could and made some mistakes on the way which provided us with a way we could learn on our mistakes and become better player next time onwards and hopefully win the first place.

LO5 – Demonstrate skills and benefits of working collaboratively

At the end of the day frisbee is a team sport and no matter how good an individual plays if the team doesn’t have chemistry and collaboration the team is doomed to fail, thats why working with my team was crucial if I wanted to win anything and the benefits followed.
