Being the host for the Kalakriti Inter-School Competition on 20th September 2025 was a dynamic and enriching experience that required effective communication, confidence, and strong collaboration. As a host, I worked closely with the organizing team, co-hosts, and technical crew to ensure the event ran smoothly. This experience not only involved planning and execution but also highlighted the importance of teamwork, as successful coordination was essential for maintaining the flow of the event. Through this role, I developed a deeper understanding of responsibility, adaptability, and the value of working collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

LO3 – Demonstrate how to initiate and plan a CAS experience.

For this event, I was actively involved in planning my role as a host. This included preparing scripts, coordinating with the organizing team, understanding the event schedule, and ensuring smooth transitions between performances. I had to anticipate potential challenges, such as time delays or technical issues, and prepare accordingly. This experience helped me understand the importance of organization, time management, and clear communication while planning a CAS activity.

LO4 – Show commitment to and perseverance in CAS experiences.

Hosting the event required consistent effort, confidence, and adaptability. Despite the pressure of speaking in front of a large audience and maintaining the flow of the event, I remained focused and composed throughout. There were moments where quick thinking was needed, especially when there were minor delays, but I managed to handle them smoothly. This experience demonstrated my commitment to fulfilling my responsibilities and my perseverance in overcoming challenges during the event.

LO5 – Demonstrate the skills and recognize the benefits of working collaboratively.

As a host for the Kalakriti Inter-School Competition, collaboration played a crucial role in ensuring the success of the event. I worked closely with my co-host, the organizing committee, and the technical team to coordinate timings, cues, and transitions between performances. Effective communication was essential, especially in aligning announcements with backstage activities and managing unexpected delays.

Through this experience, I developed key collaborative skills such as active listening, adaptability, and clear communication. I also learned to respect different roles within a team and trust others to fulfill their responsibilities. Working together not only made the event run smoothly but also reduced pressure on individuals, showing me how teamwork enhances efficiency and overall performance.
