On 25 July 2025, I joined a day-long trekking adventure to Bhavar Kada Waterfalls in the Dang region. The experience involved a four-hour hike with steep slopes, muddy terrain, and uneven trails that tested both my physical capabilities and mental resilience.
Learning Outcome 1: Recognizing Strengths and Identifying Growth Areas
The trek offered me valuable insight into my personal abilities. I noticed that I could remain composed and attentive even in risky and slippery conditions. I was able to encourage and reassure my friends on the trip by helping them overcome hesitation and maintain their balance during the more difficult sections. At the same time, I identified aspects that require improvement. During the uphill stretches, I found myself slipping too much, which made me realize I need to build greater balance and strengthen my legs through regular endurance-based training.
Learning Outcome 2: Facing Challenges and Acquiring New Skills
This was far from a leisurely walk as it demanded determination, adaptability, and cooperation. Navigating the wet, slippery ground meant I had to quickly learn basic trekking techniques, such as assessing safe stepping points, maintaining stability, and using natural supports like rocks or branches. In addition to these practical skills, I improved in soft skills like situational awareness, problem-solving, and resilience. Despite experiencing minor slips and fatigue, I kept moving forward without giving up. Reaching the waterfall was especially fulfilling, proving that embracing challenges with a learning mindset can lead to both skill development and personal satisfaction.
Learning Outcome 4: Demonstrating Commitment and Perseverance in CAS Activities
From start to finish, I was fully engaged in every part of the trek. Even when exhaustion began to set in, I stayed focused on completing the journey. My perseverance was not just about reaching the destination, but also about reflecting deeply on the experience and recognizing how it contributed to my growth. This reinforced the importance of staying committed until the task is accomplished.
Final Reflection:
The trek to Bhavar Kada Waterfalls was both a physical and mental test, giving me the chance to discover my strengths, acknowledge areas for improvement, and enhance my ability to work with others. It reminded me that commitment and resilience are key to overcoming challenges.
