One day trek to Bhavar Kada Waterfalls, Dang(activity experience)

CAS Type: Activity
Location: Maharashtra’s Bhavar Kada Waterfalls
Date: 25 July 2025
I went on a one-day hike to the stunning Bhavar Kada Waterfalls in Maharashtra’s Dang region on July 25, 2025. Our endurance, stability, and mental fortitude were put to the limit during the challenging four-hour trek through muddy, slick roads and steep slopes. The prospect of eventually seeing the thundering cascade lifted our spirits in spite of the physical effort.

Finding Your Strengths and Potential Improvement Areas (LO1)
This hike truly put my body and mind to the test. My balance was tested by the uneven trails and slippery ground, but I held stable under duress. I learned that I can remain calm in the face of unforeseen challenges, think effectively on the spot, and motivate people to overcome their concerns. One of the most fulfilling aspects of the experience was encouraging teammates, giving them support, and helping them gain confidence. But the day also showed me where I needed to improve my fitness. I was more exhausted than I had expected from the more physically demanding portions. It became evident that if I wanted to manage these journeys more effectively, I needed to increase my leg strength and endurance. This trip was more than simply a beautiful excursion; it was a self-assessment that revealed my strengths and areas for improvement.

LO2 – Taking on Challenges and Developing New Skills
The trek was far from a casual stroll; it required adaptability, patience, and quick problem-solving. Navigating muddy, uneven terrain meant making instant decisions about footing, weight distribution, and using rocks or branches for support. These on-the-spot skills proved essential for safety. I also honed interpersonal abilities such as teamwork, situational awareness, and resilience. Despite slipping a few times and feeling the strain, I kept moving forward, making the final arrival at the waterfall deeply rewarding.

LO4 – Perseverance and Commitment
Fatigue, humidity, and treacherous paths tested everyone’s limits, yet our group pushed on by encouraging one another and sharing resources. The achievement brought not only the joy of the waterfall but also pride in our collective effort. I embraced the Risk-Taker mindset, approaching challenges with calculated caution, and deepened my Open-Mindedness by adapting to new surroundings. This trek strengthened my resilience, problem-solving skills, and belief in the power of teamwork.
