For my CAS Creativity activity, I participated in a school-level business competition where the objective was to pitch a business idea in a Shark Tank–style format. My team developed an original concept, identified a target market, and worked on shaping a clear value proposition. We focused on building a strong and persuasive pitch by outlining the problem, presenting our solution, explaining our revenue model, and highlighting the potential impact of our idea. Designing the pitch deck and structuring our presentation allowed us to transform a simple concept into a well-developed business proposal.
This activity helped me address several key Learning Outcomes. Through LO2, I undertook the challenge of presenting in a high-pressure, competitive environment, which pushed me to step outside my comfort zone and strengthen my public speaking skills. LO3 was demonstrated as we initiated and planned the entire project, from brainstorming the idea to organizing roles and timelines. LO4 became evident through the perseverance required to continuously refine our concept and practice our pitch. Additionally, LO5 was central to this experience, as effective collaboration, clear communication, and shared responsibility were essential to our success.
The most meaningful takeaway from this experience was the growth in my confidence and ability to think critically under pressure. It strengthened my teamwork and presentation skills while reinforcing my interest in entrepreneurship and innovation.
