On 25th July, a bunch of us from grade 11 and 12 went on a one day trek to Bhavar Kada waterfall in Dang. We left super early- around 5:45 and honestly, I wasn’t sure what to expect. What followed was a tough four-hour trek through heavy rain, slippery mud and some super steep slopes.

Learning Outcome 1: Identify Own Strengths and Develop Areas for Growth
The trek helped me recognize my strengths and weaknesses in real-time. I noticed that I remained calm and focused despite the difficult conditions such as slippery mud and steep stones. I was able to regulate my pace and think strategically about how to balance and climb.
However, I also became aware of areas where I need improvement. My leg muscles became fatigued quicker than I expected, especially during uphill climbs, highlighting that I need to work more on my endurance and physical fitness. This motivated me to play physical training to build stamina for future outdoor challenges.

Learning Outcome 2: Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in the process.
Right from the start, the trek pushed me out of my comfort zone. The heavy rain turned the paths into slippery stretches of mud, and steep rocky inclines tested my balance and endurance. Throughout the trek I learned to adapt quickly. For example, when descending slippery slopes, I found walking cross legged helped me maintain my balance and avoid falls. While climbing back up steep rocky sections, bending low made the process much more easier.
These practical and quick problem solving skills wasn’t something I knew I had before. And figuring them out during the trek was a clear demonstration of overcoming challenges and learning new skills. The experience also taught me to stay calm under pressure, making decisions carefully rather than rushing or panicking. This ability to to adapt in real time was an important takeaway from the trek.

Learning Outcome 4: Showing Perseverance and Commitment
There were several moments during the trek when I when I questioned my decision to participate. The relentless rainfall, muddy water soaking through through my socks, and the constant presence of all kinds of insects all made the experience uncomfortable. The steep paths and physical exhaustion tested my endurance.
Despite these difficulties, I remained committed to finishing the trek. I kept reminding myself of the goal- reaching the sunning waterfalls. That was the motivation that helped me push through. Staying focused and preserving despite discomfort demonstrated my commitment to this activity. This persistence not only helped me complete the trek but also deepened my appreciation for the experience.

Learning Outcome 5: Demonstrate the Skills and Recognize the Benefits of Working Collaboratively
Teamwork played a crucial role throughout the trek. We constantly supported one another—helping with balance on slippery paths, sharing water, and encouraging those who were feeling tired or overwhelmed. These small acts made the physically demanding journey feel more manageable and less isolating.
Working together created a strong sense of unity and trust within the group. It reminded me that challenges become easier when we support each other, and that collaboration isn’t just about efficiency—it also builds stronger connections and shared motivation to reach a common goal.

Conclusion:
The one-day trek to Bhavar Kada Waterfall was far more than just a physical adventure—it was a meaningful CAS experience that challenged my limits, taught me new skills, and highlighted the importance of teamwork and perseverance. Through this journey, I grew not only in endurance and resilience but also in self-awareness, problem-solving, and collaboration.
By stepping out of my comfort zone, I was able to reflect on my strengths, recognize areas for growth, and truly understand the value of commitment and support in overcoming challenges. This experience has left a lasting impact on me, both as a learner and as a person.
