On Friday, 25 July 2025, we travelled to Bhavar Kada waterfalls. This was a 1-day trek from 5:30 pm to 10:30 pm. This trip consisted of a 4-hour-long trek. The Bhavar Kada waterfall is a beautiful sight, but it poses a significant risk, including strong currents, slippery rocks, and a history of accidents, particularly during the monsoon season. Despite this, this experience helped me explore a new way to be connected to nature.
LO1 – Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth. Screen reader support enabled.
This trekking trip taught me a lot about myself. This helped me push myself through tough situations. This trip is energy-draining, revealing my lack of fitness, helping me realise how much I have to improve my fitness level. This experience helps me contemplate that trek requires both physical and mental preparation.
LO2 – Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills.
This trek was tough because of the slippery mud, dense forest and narrow path. I felt anxious when I crossed the narrow path in the forest. I managed to get through it due to the help from my peers/friends. This trek improved my balance a lot from before.
LO4 – Show perseverance and commitment in CAS experience.
I completed this trek due to perseverance. There were many points when I wanted to give up, especially during the upward climb, but somehow I made it through it. Finishing this trek gave me a strong sense of achievement and confidence; it also strengthened my commitment to try something like this again.
LO5 – Demonstrate skills and benefits of working collaboratively.
This trek was an amazing experience. In this, we held each other back on difficult trails. Through this, I strengthen my friendship and collaboration skills. This was a challenge which was only possible due to friends.
