CAS (Activity)- Cross Country (Fountainhead)

LO 1: Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth

Participating in Cross Country helped me realize that I have more mental strength than I thought. Even when my body felt tired, I kept pushing myself to continue. I recognized determination and resilience as my strengths. At the same time, I noticed that I sometimes struggle with pacing and controlling my breathing, especially in the middle of the run. This made me more aware of the areas I need to improve and motivated me to work on building better stamina and consistency.

LO 3: Demonstrate how to initiate and plan a CAS experience

Before the event, I made sure to prepare myself by warming up properly and mentally planning how I would manage my energy. I understood that starting too fast could make it harder later, so I tried to be more strategic. This experience helped me understand the importance of preparation and thoughtful planning, even in physical activities.

LO 4: Show commitment to and perseverance in CAS experiences

There were moments during the run when I genuinely felt exhausted, but I stayed committed to finishing what I started. Pushing through that discomfort required perseverance. Completing the run gave me a strong sense of accomplishment and reminded me that commitment means continuing even when it becomes difficult.

LO 6: Demonstrate engagement with issues of global significance

This event highlighted the importance of physical fitness and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. In today’s world, where many people struggle with inactivity, events like this promote awareness about the importance of exercise and overall well-being. It reminded me that taking care of our physical health is essential.

LO 7: Recognize and consider the ethics of choices and actions

Throughout the event, it was important to show honesty, discipline, and respect for others. Following the rules and maintaining good sportsmanship ensured fairness for everyone. This reinforced the importance of integrity, not just in sports but in all aspects of life.

Final Takeaway

Overall, Cross Country was challenging but extremely rewarding. It pushed me beyond my comfort zone and showed me that I am capable of more than I assume. Finishing the run made me feel proud and accomplished.
